In order to join the relevant professional registers below, applicants must pass an approved course with a specified number of 'live' training hours and supervised sessions. I trained with Hypnotic World, a well recognised and established UK based organisation, and hold a Practitioner Diploma in Hypnotherapy.
My entry on the Hypnotic World register can be found here;
CNHC was set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of health practitioners. CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament.
As you would expect, my entry on the register means that I have to uphold particular standards. In my case this is via membership of the GHR (see below) who are a verifying organisation of the CNHC. My CNHC entry can be found here under 'Find a practitioner';
The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) and General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) are the UK’s largest and most prominent organisations within the field of Hypnotherapy and together present an exemplary model for the simultaneous protection of the public and the provision of practitioner credibility and services. The GHR is overseen by the GHSC and is responsible for its day to day administration together with the implementation of all GHSC decisions.
The GHR apply a strict Code of Ethics, which includes requirements for regular supervision as well as Continued Professional Development (i.e. ongoing training) for those on the register.
My GHR entry can be found here under the 'Hypnotherapist Search' tab;
